Is Sharing your startup idea dangerous?
I’ve seen a lot of founders worried about sharing their startup idea. I’ve also been scared of sharing start up ideas before.
Your GTM strategy is far more important than your idea
To get AfterSchool HQ to market successfully took so much work. To think about doing that again with another startup?
That startup better be special and I better have the ability and endurance to execute.
Through discouragement, through no pay check, lack of sleep, exhaustion, no vacations
A startup is a work of passion.
I’m not saying spend all your waking ideas blasting your ideas on the internet.
But I’ve had and heard so many good ideas, but to get it to market, and to be successful at it? That can easily be a multi year endeavor with what feels like more downs than ups at times.
Go to market strategy is not easily replicated. Especially if you have special insight and expertise for your startup idea - which you absolutely should.
If someone has more passion and understands how to execute better than you, with more information about your market for your own startup idea, then don’t share it with that person, that is most likely your competitor. But everyone else? No so much of a problem.
